Norqain Adds the Zürich Marathon to its Running Partnerships and Serves as Official Timekeeper

Marking the occasion, the family-owned watch brand presents a special Wild ONE Zürich Marathon edition limited to 20 pieces in honour of the event’s 20th anniversary.

Biel, Switzerland - 5 April 2023: NORQAIN announces a new partnership with the Zürich Marathon where it will serve as Official Timekeeper when the race celebrates its 20th edition on 23 April. NORQAIN has established itself as a supporter of well- known high-level races since 2019 when it teamed up with Matterhorn Ultraks. Since then, the brand has filled the Official Timekeeper role at the TCS New York City Marathon in November 2022 and the Dubai Marathon in February 2023. THE WILD ONE ZÜRICH MARATHON

Made from NORQAIN’s proprietary NORTEQ material, known for being ultra-robust and ultra-lightweight, this Wild ONE Zürich Marathon Limited Edition timepiece is limited to only 20 pieces. It has a marbled black NORTEQ case and a bold blue rubber shock absorber covers the titanium container in which the Manufacture Calibre NN20/1 is housed. As a Wild ONE timepiece – the ultimate high- performance sports watch – this model is perfectly suited for running long distances. The white dial features a grey map of Zurich with the racecourse through the famous Swiss city outlined in the same blue as the rubber shock absorber. The sapphire glass case back includes the inscriptions “LIMITED EDITION”, “ONE OF 20” and “ZÜRICH MARATHON – 20TH ANNIVERSARY”. This model is available with a white integrated rubber strap with a black edge or a black rubber strap, developed by NORQAIN partner BIWI SA. WILD ONE & NORTEQ

What immediately stands out about the 100% Swiss-made timepieces in the Wild ONE collection, aside from their incredible lightness, is their innovative construction. The case has separate top and bottom NORTEQ parts, developed
by strategic partner BIWI, which serve as a protective cage and are connected and secured with custom-made screws. The BIWI rubber bumper reliably absorbs shocks during even the most extreme activities – like when a wearer rides a mountain bike, skis an exhilarating downhill slope or runs an ambitious marathon. Water resistance to a depth of 200 metres expands the range of sports that the Wild ONE is suited for. In total, the case is made of 25 parts, including four screws which are engraved with a mountain- peak design. Each watch weighs just 84 grams, which is 50% lighter than a stainless steel NORQAIN watch.

The watches’ robustness and shock-resistance are proven by withstanding the Mettalo-Test, which is conducted at 5000 g. For comparison, the movement of the wrist of a tennis player reaches 800 g, making the Wild ONE timepiece 6.25 times more robust and the ideal companion for all sport activities.

NORTEQ is an ultra-light, ultra-robust material that was created exclusively for NORQAIN and its watches and is the result of a close collaboration between NORQAIN, Jean- Claude Biver and BIWI SA. This high-performance material has a striking marble effect. This carbon fibre composite is made of carbon fibre, which is commonly used in the aerospace industry, and a high-performance polymer matrix containing 60% bio-sourced material (castor oil).
