NORQAINER Challenge 2019

NORQAIN is proud to present the NORQAINER Challenge. As of 2019, NORQAIN will be organising a NORQAINER Challenge once a year in which participants from all around the world can step out of their comfort zone and join us on an unforgettable adventure.

This year’s Challenge will be taking place from the 11th – 16th of August 2019 in Zermatt, Switzerland. Accompanied by our NORQAINER and Matterhorn speed record holder, Andy Steindl and two additional mountain guides, three chosen winners of the contest will have the opportunity to climb the world-famous Matterhorn.

To compete in the NORQAINER Challenge contest, participants from all around the world uploaded a picture of themselves on Instagram using the hashtag #norqainerchallenge2019. This post entailed an adventurous outdoor picture and a caption explaining why they should be the chosen ones for the NORQAINER Challenge 2019. All the costs such as the flights to and from the participant’s home country, accommodation, meals and mountaineering gear are included in the package.

The jury consisting of Ben Küffer, CEO & Founder of NORQAIN, Mark Streit, Business Development Director, and NHL ice hockey legend as well as Andy Steindl, chose the winners of the NORQAINER Challenge based on the perceived authenticity and uniqueness of the Instagram posts.

Following three participants have been chosen by our jury to take part in this year’s challenge:

  1. Mrs Justine Gosling (UK)
  2. Mr Ollie Adkins (UK)
  3. Mr Naoto Minoda (JP)

To support the NORQAINERS and their physical preparation beforehand, the winners will receive a personal training plan created by Andy Steindl. This training plan will guide the NORQAINERS closely through their preparation, so they feel confident and ready to conquer the Matterhorn on August 14th, 2019. Upon arrival in Zermatt the participants will complete an additional physical preparation and altitude training. Finally, before conquering the Matterhorn, Andy Steindl will make the final decision if the participants are ready for the Challenge.

NORQAIN is very excited to offer this opportunity to like-minded people who love adventures as much as we do. The NORQAINER Challenge 2019 is a true representation of what our brand stands for: stepping out of your comfort zone and constantly challenging yourself on new adventures – your life, your way.
